On July 16th, 1969, the mightiest rocket ever built ignited its first stage engines and launched Apollo 11 to the Moon with much fanfare and public rejoicing. But as a story on the ABC website suggests, the public was rather tepid about the mission.

Im a Sprint “Premier” Costumer

Wow, I didn’t realize that I had been with Sprint for that long. To be honest, the end of my renewed 2 year contract is coming up, and if it weren’t for the Palm Pre id be switching services. Sprint is (finally) stepping into the market with a legitimate touch screen smart phone, it has saved their image for me. Simply getting long time user benefits would not have kept me around. Nonetheless Ive looked through the little pamphlet that came in the mail that showcases the advantages of being a “premier” costumer, and its got its perks. As a “token of their appreciation”, here’s what I get:
- A new phone (and renewed contract) after 12 months instead of 22 months
- 25% off any accessory purchase
- Insider info from Sprint
- Coverage updates
- Courtesy check-up from sprint every six months
- Ability to switch to a different plan without extending my contract and without penalties
- Anniversary rewards and “just because” extras
A new phone every 12 months could come in handy. The 25% off and the choice of what service plan I can be under, are also two things I can see myself using. The other stuff is just kind of “blah”. I doubt ill be getting any kind of “insider info” that I can’t find on the net; I really don’t want Sprint calling me every six months to conduct surveys; and there isn’t any details on the “extras”. I’m not ecstatic about being a premier costumer, but it's free stuff. So who am I to complain?
